AIB Governance & Committees
The Australian Institute of Building (AIB) is governed by a dual-layered structure, providing the Institute with the ability to consult widely on strategic issues whilst retaining the flexibility to respond rapidly to changes in the commercial, technical or regulatory environment. The key components of the structure are:

AIB National Council |
|
Responsibility for the overall management of the Institute lies with the Council however most of its responsibilities for administrative matters have been delegated to the Board |

AIB Board of Management |
|
Board is responsible for setting general administrative and policy direction and monitoring, through the General Manager, the performance of the staff in carrying out such measures required to meet the Board's policies. |

|
AIB National Committees |
|
The National Committees are responsible for determining both administrative policy and also for providing a policy structure for AIB's relationship with key industry stakeholders and government. |

Responsibility for providing strategic advice to the Board and Council, administrative management, implementation of policy and day to day financial management rests with the General Manager and the AIB staff. At a local, Chapter, level state Executive Officers are responsible for managing the affairs of the Chapter.
