ACIF Australian Construction Industry Forum

The Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF) is the peak consultative council for the property and construction industry.  The Australian Institute of Building (AIB) is one of a select number of professional institutes and trade associations that comprise the ACIF membership.

ACIF has been in existence for more than twenty years.  Over this period its role and membership have evolved to reflect the changing structure and situation of the industry.

ACIF’s membership includes the peak associations covering the investment, design, construction and management of the built environment. The support of member organisations such as the AIB is a critical element of ACIF’s success.

ACIF’s mission is to create a competitive and prosperous industry that is a leader in shaping and delivering Australia ’s nation building agenda.  This is a challenging mission. No organisation, even one with the supportive membership that ACIF has, can hope to achieve such a mission without using networks to target all stakeholders.

Each meeting has heard from invited speakers from other leading industry groups or spheres of government.

This sharing of information and views has been of immense benefit to ACIF members in their own operations while also allowing ACIF to transmit their concerns on factors affecting industry competitiveness to a wider audience.

In parallel with this networking process, ACIF is developing policy positions across a range of key issues as part of its Blueprint for the Built Environment project.  Draft policies on Tax, Innovation, Workplace Relations and Infrastructure are were completed and presented to Ministers in late 2005.
