AIB History - Managers

Since its formation in 1951 the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) has appointed only six people to lead it in an administrative context.  In concert with the Institute's elected office bearers, these individuals have each stamped their own mark of the Institute.  The title of the role has varied but the essential role of the job remains as providing administrative leadership and legislative policy advice to the Council and Board.  AIB's members have been well served by:

1951 - 1972
J Murray Gosper AM OBE
1973 - 1990
A Hugh Gordon LVO DFC
1990 - 2001
Don Debus
2001 - 2003
John Crickmore
2003 - 2004
Kayt Watts
Troy Williams MAICD

It is interesting to note that three of these appointments have served in the Australian defence forces (AH Gordon - Air Force, DG Debus - Navy and TR Williams - Army) in various roles.  The current CEO, Troy Williams, continues active service through the Army Reserve.
