AIB-MSC Membership Services Committee

One of the most important roles of the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) is advocacy - this being actively supporting the building profession.  However, another aspect of AIB's work is to ensure that its membership structure provides the appropriate level of recognition for building professionals working within the construction industry. The role of the AIB-MSC Membership Services Committee includes:

  • Reviewing members' services and relevance;
  • Reviewing the development of membership growth both in Australia and internationally;
  • Reviewing and monitoring membership of the National Building Professionals Register (NBPR);
  • Making recommendations to enhance the growth of membership;
  • Reviewing Young Members development, intake and promotion;
  • Reviewing members’ movements through grades;
  • Reviewing Chapter activities and services regarding promotion of membership;
  • Reviewing the Institute’s membership policies.

The AIB-MSC is an important link between members and AIB staff responsible for the development and management of the Institute's services. Many of the benefits associated with AIB membership were initiated through this committee.

The current committee Chair is Mr Greg McLean FAIB, a Brisbane-based builder.

AIB members seeking further on the AIB-MSC committee's work are invited to contact the AIB national office via e-mail at membership@aib.org.au
