Professional Excellence In Building Awards
— Award Categories
The
Australian Institute of Building (AIB)
recognises the work of building professionals through the AIB
Professional Excellence In Building Awards. In past years
professional builders have been rewarded for their work on a number
of projects ranging from international sporting arenas to unusual
residential developments and awards are made in the following categories:

Industrial
or institutional projects values between:
- Up to $2.5 million
- $2.5 to $10 million
- $10 to $50 million
- $50 to $100 million
- $100 million plus |
| Residential

Housing,
multi-unit or residential villages valued between:
- Up to $2.5 million
- $2.5 to $10 million
- $10 to $50 million
- $50 to $100 million
- $100 million plus |
Technology
& Innovation |
The
finalists have demonstrated innovative approaches taken to meet
a particular element of a project. |
Ecologically
sustainable
development |
The
finalists have enhanced the quality of the built environment
for the general community and promoted ecological sustainability.
Projects must be built work, and may include courtyard spaces,
plazas, stadiums, or significant urban projects. |
Research
&
development |
Finalists
must have demonstrated their excellence in research and development
of a building concept, process or project. |
| General |
Finalists
have demonstrate their excellence in an area not specified in
other categories. |
Entrants in the national
AIB Professional Excellence
In Building Awards are those individuals who have received
either a High Commendation or Professional Excellence
Awards at a regional Chapter level.
In addition, we also proudly support the AIB
Arup Young Achiever of the Year Award.
