Standards Australia Representation

Standards Australia technical committees are constituted on a representative basis, rather than by approaching individuals or companies to participate. The members of a technical committee are selected by a nominating organisation, such as the Australian Institute of Building (AIB), to represent the views of large groups of interested and affected parties with a common interest.

AIB is one of the largest participants in the development of Australian Standards through its nomination of AIB members to Standards Australia committees. AIB nominates member to the following committees.

Within their terms of reference, these committees are responsible for the preparation and content of an Australian Standard, and for reviewing existing Australian Standards. Committees are also responsible for technical contributions to international standardization activities within their areas of expertise.

Members wishing to participate in the development of Australian Standards should visit the member participation section of this website.
