The Bachelor of Construction Management
consists of four years of academic study and meets the requirements
for professional recognition by the building profession.
The
Bachelor of Construction Management is offered to students
wishing to gain employment in management positions in the building
industry. It meets the qualification requirements of the Building Act (Vic) 1993.
The
course provides a sound construction management education that integrates
studies in technology and building management, including law, economics
and building science. It develops progressively from the elementary
concepts underlying planning and management of building production
and technical studies through to the complexities and interrelationships
of modern construction practices.
The base Bachelor
of Construction Management degree is a four year full-time
course offered on-campus in Geelong , Victoria . It comprises thirty-two
units (subjects) and thirty-two credit points with twenty-eight
core and four unspecified electives. Each unit is normally taught
over a twelve to thirteen week semester and has an equivalent student
workload of ten hours per week including private study and assignment
related activities.
The Bachelor of Construction
Management degree may also be undertaken as a double degree
with the Bachelor of Architecture, leading to two separate
undergraduate Degrees. The duration of the combined program is usually
six-years full-time.
