Board of Trustees
The Building Research & Education Foundation operates under the auspices of the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) which is incorporated by Royal Charter. In order to properly manage the Foundation's funds, which are held in an independent legal trust, a Board of Trustees is responsible for managing the Foundation. The Trustees are:

The Foundation's Chairman is Mr Peter Hansen who was appointed in September 2005. His is Board a member of the Melba Conservatorium of Music and other community groups.

A long-serving Trustee, Mr Peter Fardoulys is a Board member of Opera Queensland, the Royal Brisbane Hospital Research Foundation and the Creche & Kindergarten Assoc. of Qld.

A member of AIB for more than fifty years Mr Graham Fricker has previously served as Chair of the South Australian Support Group of the Australian War Memorial Foundation.

| Serving as the AIB National President since 2004, Mr Tom Morris has represented the interests of the building profession at Parliamentary and industry forums. He as previously served as AIB Victorian Chapter President (1999-2000). |

During his term as AIB National President Mr John Thomas initiated the establishment of the National Building Professionals Register and the Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
John served as AIB National President during 1997-1999. |

| The Foundation's Executive Officer, Mr Troy Williams, holds the appointment concurrently with that of AIB General Manager. He has previously been responsible for the education foundation at the Australian Institute of Purchasing & Materials Management. |
The Board responsible for determining the allocation of funds from the trust in addition to providing advice and guidance to staff on the administration of the Foundation and its assets. The Board is also responsible for the fundraising strategy to enhance the number and size of research grants that are provided by the Foundation.
