Foundation Benefactors

The AIB Research & Education Foundation was established in 1968 following a sizable grant from Sir Albert Jennings, a past national President of the Australian Institute of Building (AIB).  In subsequent years further donations from individuals enabled the Foundation to expand the range of grants and prizes that were awarded.  The following is an introduction to two of the Foundation's two most generous benefactors.

Sir Manuel Richard Hornibrook OBE FAIB
The support of Sir Manuel Hornibrook for the building profession was reflected in the establishment of AIB and his numerous grants to AIB.  His firm later became Baulderstone Hornibrook.
Sir Manuel was AIB National President between 1952-1956

Sir Albert Victor Jennings FAIB

The Foundation was established with an initial donation from Sir Albert Jennings, the founder of the AV Jennings construction firm. Throughout his lifetime Sir Albert was a generous AIB supporter.
Sir Albert was AIB National President between 1964-1966

More recent supports have been generous with with donations, sponsorships of individual prizes and also their time in supporting the Foundation's fundraising efforts.

Individuals and organisations wishing to make a substantial and lasting donation to the Foundation should contact the Executive Officer, Troy Williams, to discuss the appropriate way of supporting the AIB Research and Education Foundation and through it the building profession.
