Professional recognition
AIB's grades of membership provides a structure for your peers and prospective employers to identify you as a Chartered Building Professional whose experience and qualifications have been subject to independent assessment. Through the use of post nominals you have a ready means to reinforce your professionalism — for example Joe Citizen MAIB. For more than fifty years these have been a recognised means of distinguishing those with a commitment to their own professionalism and well-being of the entire building profession.
Advocacy to protect the interests of the profession
For more than fifty years AIB has been an effective advocate for the building profession, working within industry and government to ensure that those responsible for building and construction management . Members have the opportunity to influence government policy through the AIB-IGL Industry and government liaison committee and provide direction in AIB's work supporting policy development through the Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF). Extensive opportunities exist to participate in policy development at a local level through participation in your local AIB Chapter.
